Glen Ullinish II Wind Farm – Consultation – 28th September

The Muirhall consultation in Struan will be held on Wednesday 28th September from 11:00 to 19:00 in the School.

Muirhall describe this as an opportunity to update us on their plans for the project, and to share how they have responded to the outcomes of their initial technical and environmental surveys, and also the feedback they have had on the project from members and groups in the local community. In addition, they intend to speak to us about their proposed £2m annual community investment fund, the opportunity of up to 10% community shared ownership, and the work they are undertaking to improve connectivity in the area. The consultation events will detail the key changes they have made to the layout since the initial public consultation events in April, including the removal of a number of turbines to reduce visual impacts from key viewpoints and settlements, which has led to an overall reduction in turbine numbers from 59 to 53. They also intend to share visualisations of the updated site design, to set out how they intend to progress their plans, and the timetable for drawing together their planning application.

Beach Clean – Eabost Round 2 – Thursday 26th April till late

After the successful beach clean at Loch Beag on 10th April, we also managed to fill a skip to overflowing at Eabost on Saturday 14th.  Many thanks to all people who came along and helped.  However this still left quite a lot of debris on the beach at Eabost.

THC have agreed to provide another skip on Thursday 26th April, to try and get rid of the rest of the rubbish, so please come along and assist for whatever time you can spare on Thursday during the day or evening, your help would be much appreciated!
