Struan Community Development Group have decided carry out a further survey! We
have been looking into suitable development sites for a community/visitor centre and
the site now being concentrated on is the area between the broch and the school.
This is a relatively large area, of some 0.65 hectares, and we are therefore
investigating how best we can develop it.

As we believe that there may be a shortfall of affordable housing or houses to rent in
the Struan area, the Development Group have decided to carry out a housing survey
to try and establish whether there is indeed a demand for this within the community.
If the results of the survey confirm this, then we will investigate whether to include
such facilities in our plans. Therefore, we would appreciate it if your household would
fill in the attached questionnaire and return it by the 17th August 2018. Similarly, if
you know of any friends or family members who may be interested in returning
to/living in the area, please invite them to visit the community website –
www.struancommunity.co.uk – from where they can download a copy of the survey,
complete it and return it.

Following the survey, if the results demonstrate a need for affordable housing has
been established, then we will look into the possibilities of doing this in conjunction
with a suitable partner, for example the Highland Small Communities Housing Trust.

Confidentiality
The survey is for everyone in the Struan area and this questionnaire is being sent to
every household in this area. The information will be used for analysis to shape the
project and produce a report on the key findings. You can be reassured that any
personal information you give will be kept secure and will not be shared outwith our
group according to the terms of the General Data Protection Regulation.
